CNN’s New Day Asks GOP Sen Kennedy the Big Question: Does Viral Audio Clip Say Laurel or Yanny?
By now, surely you’ve heard the audio clip which has spread across social media over the past 24 hours. (If you’ve somehow missed it, you can get up to speed here.)
In an manner unseen since the infamous “What color is the dress?” debate, the internet has been split over whether the voice in the clip says “Laurel” or “Yanny.”
CNN’s New Day never shies away from the tough topic. And they never hesitate to put their guests on the spot — particularly if that guest is a person in power. And so anchors Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota were determined, on Wednesday morning, to get an answer out of Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA)
Laurel or Yanny?
“I hear Laurel,” the Republican Senator said.
“Handsome, and intelligent,” Cuomo said, in agreement.
Indeed, it was unanimous — as Camerota is also Team Laurel.
“Can you believe that half the population hears Yanny?” Camerota said.
“That is creepy,” Kennedy said.
“It’s kind of like when I say something’s a fact and you say it’s fake,” Cuomo jokingly said to Kennedy. “Maybe it’s just a hearing issue.”
“I can’t believe I agree with Cuomo!” Kennedy shot back.
So there you have it. Three more Laurels. Add this reporter to the tally. What’s wrong with you Yannys?
