Cruz on Trump Call: Would Much Rather Talk to Taiwan Than Cuba or Iran
President-elect Donald Trump‘s phone call with the president of Taiwan really set a lot of people off, wondering about the potential implications and China’s reaction. But one school of thought emerging is that this could be good if it was specifically planned out by Trump and he’s not just winging it.
Well, Senator Ted Cruz tweeted out this defense of the Trump call today:
I would much rather have Donald Trump talking to President Tsai than to Cuba's Raul Castro or Iran's Hasan Rouhani. This is an improvement.

And Cruz isn’t the only one expressing this view:
Trump takes a congratulatory phone call from Taiwan and gets from grief from the media than Obama giving $500 billion to Iran

Obama breaks w/decades of US policy on Cuba & gets endless fawning coverage. Trump breaks w/US policy by phoning Taiwan & he's reckless?

Fair point. The current administration "breaks tradition" reaching out to Iran and Cuba. The new one does with Taiwan. Speaks volumes. https://t.co/PhMrdb8aRb
