Pelosi on GOP’s CHIP Proposal: ‘A Bowl of Doggie Doo’ With ‘A Cherry on Top’
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had some scatological words Thursday about the GOP proposal on the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
“This is like giving you a bowl of doggie doo, put a cherry on top, call it a chocolate sundae,” Pelosi said. “This is nothing.”
“This CHIP should’ve been done in September,” she added. “We wanted ten years. We wanted permanent CHIP, which, by the way, saves six billion dollars.”
Republicans and Democrats have been in a brutal feud in recent weeks that has threatened to shut the government down.
“Republicans rejected [the Democrats’ proposal] even just on the terms of CHIP. They rejected the ten-year saving six billion dollars,” Pelosi said.
