Rocker Rod Stewart Made a Spoof ISIS-Style Execution Video — It Did Not Go Well

Rod Stewart has apologized for a video he participated in showing a spoof ISIS-style execution during a recent world tour.

“From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game Of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show,” said the rocker, Britain’s Daily Record reported.

The video was posted to an Instagram account of Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster before being swiftly deleted. The footage shows someone seemingly reenacting a beheading. The desert setting made the scene a little too real, especially after numerous similarly choreographed videos from the Islamic State.

“Understandably, this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended,” said Stewart.
