Twitter announced that they have put new security measures into effect following the brief, unauthorized deletion of President Trump‘s Twitter account.
Update: We have implemented safeguards to prevent this from happening again. We won’t be able to share all details about our internal investigation or updates to our security measures, but we take this seriously and our teams are on it. https://t.co/8EfEzHvB7p

The disappearance of Trump’s account – even for just ten minutes – sparked a significant uproar in the political mediasphere. Twitter said last night that the deletion was caused by a rogue employee on his last day at work, and they said they’d investigate the matter.
The account is back up now, though the incident has prompted questions about the integrity of Trump’s account and the possibility that the current nature of American politics could drastically shift if the president lost his account for good.
Indeed, Trump his already used his account quite a bit since the day began.
