White House Creating New Agency for Governmental Employee Background Checks
Today, the White House announced a new plan for how background checks for governmental employee positions will be conducted going forward.
They will be creating a new agency called the National Background Investigations Bureau, which will handle federal background checks.

According to the press release from the Office of Personnel Management, the NBIB is going to be only one element of “a series of changes to modernize and strengthen how the Federal Government performs and safeguards background investigations for its employees and contractors.”
The OPM stated that it will take a considerable amount of time for these changes to be implemented, but immediate action is being taken to secure incoming employees of the Federal Government, which is responsible for issuing, handling and storing important data.
Could an overhaul of the human resources policies that are barring so many qualified applicants from the FBI be on the horizon?
