Corey Lewandowski Hits White House For Handling of Rob Porter Abuse Allegations: ‘Failed’
In the wake of the current White House scandal surrounding senior aide Rob Porter, who resigned this week after allegations of domestic abuse surfaced against him, Corey Lewandowski appeared on Fox News to criticize the administration for how it handled the imbroglio.
Lewandowski dragged the White House about the way they handled news about Porter in a segment with America’s Newsroom‘s Bill Hemmer, saying that “the process they were supposed to have in place failed.”
“The public reports now say that multiple people in the building were made aware of this over the course of the last few months,” Lewandowski said. “If that’s the case and they didn’t act… I think there’s accountability somewhere.”
Since the days of the 2016 election, rumors have been floating around that Lewandowski was having a secret tryst with then-press secretary Hope Hicks. When news got out about Porter, several White House officials reportedly fingered Lewandowski as a person of interest in a possible smear campaign against the aide, as the latter had recently become involved with Hicks himself. For his part, Lewandowski has denied having any involvement with the Porter allegations.
