Ivanka Trump: ‘I Don’t Like the Word Accomplice’

You’ve probably heard already that First Daughter Ivanka Trump spoke at a women’s conference in Germany today and didn’t get the most positive reception. She also spoke with NBC’s Hallie Jackson for an interview.

Jackson brought up some of the coverage of her, like how one German paper was calling her the “First Whisperer” and asking whether she’ll be a moderating force (like a lot of people think) or whether she’ll be a “loyal accomplice” to her father’s actions.

Trump bristled, “I don’t like the intonation of that… I don’t like the word accomplice in this context. I don’t know that that’s productive.”

She said that her father liked to hear from people of very different viewpoints.

Gayle King asked Trump earlier this month to respond to accusations that she is “complicit.” At the time she said, “If being complicit is wanting to––is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact, then I’m complicit.”
