Joe Scarborough Slams ‘Asinine’ Michelle Obama Critics
During a rundown of the news Monday morning, Joe Scarborough brought up the recent report that some families in Topeka, Kansas were unhappy that First Lady Michelle Obama had been chosen to speak at a local high school graduation. According to the Morning Joe host, anyone out there complaining should “keep those concerns to yourself.”
As Scarborough explained, students and families at the USD 501 school are upset that the first lady’s involvement means fewer available seats for guests at the commencement ceremony. Michelle Obama’s speech is pegged to the 60st anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision on Brown v. Board of Education, which ended school segregation.
“Wow, that’s lame,” co-host Mika Brzezinski chimed in during his report.
“I have got to say if you have the opportunity to have the first lady of the United States come out and speak at your high school graduation, keep those concerns to yourself,” Scarborough added. “That is asinine.”
