Former NPR Exec Vivian Schiller In Talks With NBC News

You may remember Vivian Schiller, the former CEO of NPR, from her role in the media storm surrounding a sting video, created and edited by James O’Keefe, showing NPR executive Ron Schiller (no relation) making disparaging comments about Republicans and the Tea Party movement.

Shortly after announcing her departure from NPR amidst the video controversy, Schiller vowed to return to media, saying she planned to remain in journalism. She’s made good on that promise: Schiller is currently in talks with NBC News, where she will oversee digital projects.

All Things Digital brings up a good question regarding her possible hire: If NBC bring her on, will it see a backlash over its suspected political leanings? Put another way: Is Schiller a controversial asset for any potential (supposedly nonpartisan) employer?

Why ofcourse she is. What took them so f**king long?

  • timzank

    She’s a natural for NBC.

Let’s not forget her disgraceful firing of Juan Williams along with her statement that “Juan Williams needs a Psychiatrist”…she’ll fit in just fine!

  • tatboy

Well… that proves so many points I don’t know where to start.

    WHAT A JOKE !!
If NBC hires her, they’ll be proving beyond doubt that they have no shame. Maybe she could be a regular on Chris Matthews. Yuk, it’s the ugly mating with the disgusting. You decide who is which.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

A leftist twit on the government dole is in talks with another company on the government dole!

    Really? Whodathunkit?

I am sure that the execs at NBC really do think she was a good non biased CEO of that unbiased NPR. It would be laughable if it wasn’t so destructive to political discourse and our democracy.

Schiller would be an awful hire…but a perfect fit for NBC.

And this is a surprise to?

    Shock of the century.

Did you know the summer is hot?
Did you know if you stand in the rain you will get wet?

These two facts are more shocking then the headline in this article.

You can’t keep a good leftist Schill down.

  • got a grip

They’ve verified she is non-biased, and she has said the same about them, so it must be a hiring of tremendous journalistic integrity. LOL Reminds you of the famous Twilite Zone episode where deformed and like-minded surgeons and nurses recoil in horror at the “failed” plastic surgery resulting in the beautiful Donna Douglas.

I thought maybe Comcast would shake things up a bit at NBC. You know, maybe try to get the broadcast network out of 4th place. And maybe try to fix MSNBC.

But so far, nothing except getting rid of the embarrassing Keith Olbermann. And they did not get rid of the embarrassing Ed “Blabbermouth” Schultz. (no relation to Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz)

  • gajack

Alas, poor Vivian only has a face for Twitter!

  • TfT

She will fit perfectly with all the other obama suck-ups; good call by all parties. Liberal lala land.

No FAMILY “relationship” is what I think you meant. Otherwise, they are two venomous anti-Americans cut out of the same piece of dried-out dog crap……………………….perfect Democrats.

  • CAconservative

Extreme lack of judgment, integrity, and character…yup, she’ll be a perfect fit at NBC!
