Larry King Lets Roger Ross Williams Retry Oscars Speech, Interrupts Again
The guy who got Kanye’d at Sunday night’s Oscars was a guest on CNN last night.
And after a short interview, Larry King gave Roger Ross Williams his shot to give his full speech – before interrupting him again.
Williams was slotted right at the end of the program, with about five minutes before Anderson Cooper 360 went on air. First, there was a brief interview. “I wouldn’t say we’re friends,” said Wiliams of the crasher. “She produced the film, she hasn’t been involved in the film since May of last year.”
Then it was time for his acceptance speech, complete with fake surprise when King announced he had won the award. And with nearly 24 hours to prepare for his new speech, he seemed nervous, stumbling through his notes and finally stopping altogether. A producer must have ‘played him off,’ because a confused Williams looked to King as the host said, “Oh come on back, we only have 30…they’re cutting you off, I wasn’t cutting you off, Kanye!”
Awkward – but at least he got a few more words out this time.
Tonight at 9pmET on HLN, Elinor Burkett (the stage crasher) gets to tell her side to Joy Behar.
Here’s the clip of King last night:
