On Day Of Fox Announcement, Glenn Beck Has 2nd Best Ratings In Cable News (Viewers 25-54)
Cable news ratings, April 6, 2011:
•It looks like plenty of viewers wanted to know what–if anything–Glenn Beck would say about his just-announced plans to “transition” out of his 5 p.m. program at Fox. Wednesday’s ratings put Beck second only to Bill O’Reilly as the top show in all of cable news. Beck had 634,000 viewers 25-54, behind O’Reilly’s 805,000. Sean Hannity was third overall with 567,000 viewers 25-54.
Outside of Fox, the highest rated show in cable news was Rachel Maddow‘s, with 358,000 viewers 25-54, followed closely by Ed Schultz (337,000).
•At CNN, Piers Morgan Tonight continues to be a work in progress, with ratings sometimes among the network’s highest, other times–like Wednesday–among the lowest. With 177,000 viewers 25-54, Morgan finished behind Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer, but ahead of John King, USA and In the Arena.
PMT was third in the 9 p.m. hour, but only slightly ahead of the fourth-placed show, HLN’s new Dr. Drew, which had 154,000 viewers in the demo.
