Democratic Rep.: ‘Stone Cold Racist’ Bannon Shouldn’t Be in Trump CBC Meeting

Congressman Hakeem Jeffries would like to see President Trump meet with the Congressional Black Caucus, but not Steve Bannon.

He told Katy Tur on MSNBC yesterday that the CBC has reached out to Trump on January 19th and they would genuinely like to see the president show a serious commitment to issues that black Americans care about.

He did find it “strange” how Trump handled a question about the issue asked by reporter April Ryan, but still said they’re “looking forward to an open dialogue.”

However, he did draw the line at allowing Bannon to attend that meeting:

“Steve Bannon should not be in the room… He’s a stone cold racist and a white supremacist sympathizer. It would be hard for me to participate in any meeting with Steve Bannon that normalizes his presence in the White House. Beyond that, we’ll have to see.”
