John Brennan: Trump ‘Doesn’t Deserve to be Given This Type of Leash’

This week, President Donald Trump revoked the security clearance of former CIA head John Brennan.

Yet, according to Brennan, the worst may be yet to come.

Responding to Rachel Maddow’s question about what kind of disaster he might be envisioning during an appearance on MSNBC Friday night, Brennan replied: “What happens if he wants to do something on the foreign front in terms of some type of military venture? You know the ‘wag the dog’ scenario as a way to distract attention.”

He continued on: “As things get increasingly tough for him, and the waters get even choppier, how desperate is he going to become? What else is he going to do in order to distract attention?”

Brennan then said he was very disappointed with the Republican members of Congress — many who he has known and respected for years — who are “turning a blind eye and making excuses for someone who doesn’t deserve to be given this type of leash.”
