Jindal: GOP Should Stop Being ‘Whiners’ About Media Bias
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal gave an interview to Politico, out today, in which the potential Republican 2016 candidate says that his party should resist the urge to be “a bunch of whiners.”
Jindal has a lot to say about the current state of the GOP, from how Republicans shouldn’t back away from principle to how they should stop trying to be liked by The New York Times to how some people are considered “smart” conservatives by the media just by taking on one of their own.
Jindal famously said two years ago that the GOP needs to “stop being the stupid party.” More recently, he’s been in the national spotlight for pushing the discredited claim of Muslim “no-go zones” in Europe.
Jindal positions himself as a break from the establishment––the establishment trying to keep every candidate from “being so rude and outspoken and harsh”––but also throws this out:
“We don’t need to become a bunch of whiners,” Jindal said of Republicans. “We don’t need to be the next big victim class… Absolutely I worry that it’s very tempting to fall in this trap.”
“Every four years, you’ll have Republicans complain that the mainstream media is liberal and biased,” he added near the end of the interview. “It is, always has been, always will be. Get over it.”
