Palin Defends Trump’s Election Answer: He Won’t Give His Opponents Permission to Cheat
Sarah Palin is one of the few people coming to Donald Trump‘s defense after he played coy about whether he would accept the election results.
Palin wrote on Facebook last night that “silly media sheep are all chomping down on one issue after this debate.” She actually praised Trump for making it clear how the importance the legitimacy of every election needs to be.
“What reasonable person,” she asked, “would preemptively accept any and all hypothetical questions and conditions of any hypothetical election? Trump’s answer was RIGHT.”
Palin thinks that Trump learned from when his past Republican opponents reneged on their pledge to back him after he won the nomination:
Trump got screwed in that deal when he eventually pledged to support the nominee and then some of his fellow candidates turned tail and refused to reciprocate when Trump won.
Trump learned – why give opponents permission and incentive to act unfairly and cheat? It’s shortsighted to commit to accepting the outcome of a race REGARDLESS of unscrupulous cheaters. How totally unfair that would be to the American voter!
She concluded that of course Trump would accept the results of a “legitimate election.”
