The Week’s Top 25 TV Pundits By Airtime

15. Dr. Sanjay Gupta – 118 On-Air Mentions

The good doctor from CNN was all over the networks last week with his Health Minute during the local evening news. The most interesting installment was on Saturday when he showed viewers a pill that has an electronic bar code that lets doctors and family members know if the patient has taken it or not! Well, that might have been the most interesting one. It was the only one we watched. Give us a break, there are 25 people on this list and there are only so many hours in the day.

14. Stephen A. Smith – 125 On-Air Mentions

Smith got a lot of sports news to discuss on TV, from the Donovan McNabb trade to the big Duke win. His most entertaining appearance, however, was when he showed up on The View to talk about Tiger in an episode entitled “Why Men Cheat”. Barbara Walters even said he was there to represent “all the men in the world”. She may have been joking but that’s got to make you uncomfortable. That’s like being a wolf representative in a chicken coop trying to host a discussion on “Why You All Are Delicious”.

13. Tory Johnson – 143 On-Air Mentions

Johnson stopped by the ABC show Good Morning, Texas to pimp her book “Fired to Hired” and give advice on how to get a job. She then went big time and did the same spiel via satellite with Good Morning, America. We can only assume her advice involved finding out what everyone in the country needs and then writing a book on how to get it. We’re currently working on a book on how to get two more hours of sleep a day. But what finishes our rhyme, “Tired to…”?

12. Juan Williams – 153 On-Air Mentions

The NPR news analyst and Fox News contributor got to appear on the channel quite a bit last week. In one notable appearance, he was on News Watch where they discussed whether or not the “mainstream media” (cue scary sound effect) was being unfair to the Tea Party. Williams seemed to argue no. The other four people on the program argued yes. We can only assume that, to maintain the “balanced” part of “fair and balanced”, Williams was plumped up in the Fox green room until he weighed about a metric ton.

11. Rick Reilly – 161 On-Air Mentions

The Masters happened last week and you know what that means: TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER and some golf.
