President Obama held a closed-door meeting with a number of conservative journalists on Tuesday. One of them, The Washington Examiner‘s chief political correspondent Byron York, took to Twitter to explain exactly why he attended the meeting and what happened during it (without divulging any of the off-the-record details).
This is not the first time Obama has held private meetings with journalists, and not the first time it’s been with conservative ones. York tweeted out exactly why he went and what he gathered from the meeting.
Robert Costa, National Review editor and one of the other journalists at the event, also tweeted about the meeting, thanking Obama for allowing them in.
Obama also met with columnist and Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer, who appeared on The O’Reilly Factor that night saying the White House is “politically enjoying the shutdown of the government.”
