WATCH: Seth MacFarlane’s New Movie Tackles the Immigration Debate

A Million Ways to Die in the West opens in theaters today, and with a measly 34% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it appears that Seth MacFarlane’s most ominous predictions are coming true.

But while most critics are complaining about the overly sophomoric nature of the film’s comedy, it does use its satire to address at least one relevant political issue: immigration reform. In the clip below, the characters played by Neil Patrick Harris and Amanda Seyfried are forced to relocate to Mexico, where they are certain they will be embraced by the population there. What follows is a reversal of the attitude too many Americans have about Mexicans coming over the border in the other direction today.

Interestingly, Universal posted the clip solely on its “Latino” YouTube channel, perhaps in an attempt at some niche marketing directed to that audience demographic.
