Geraldo Praises Himself For Dumb Quote Mocked in Kendrick Lamar’s Pulitzer-Winning Album
Kendrick Lamar won a Pulitzer Prize for his fourth album DAMN., an astonishing accolade for the artist, as the first rapper to ever win the award — and the first who is not a classical or jazz musician.
And Geraldo Rivera wants you to know that he played a part in the historic win.
The Fox News contributor took to Twitter on Monday night to congratulate Lamar, who he called an “extraordinary talent.”
“Proud to have played a small, indirect role in inspiring such extraordinary creativity,” Rivera wrote.
Congratulations @kendricklamar a extraordinary talent on winning the #Pulitzer. Proud to have played a small, indirect role in inspiring such extraordinary creativity.

What role did Rivera play, you ask?
Well, after Lamar performed his song “Alright” — which features anti-police rhetoric — at the BET Awards, Rivera and his co-hosts on The Five slammed the rapper.
In response, Lamar included a sample of Rivera’s remarks on his single “DNA.”, which appeared on DAMN.
Those comments from Rivera were: “This is why I say that hip-hop has done more damage to young African-Americans than racism in recent years.”
Congratulations, Geraldo, on the inspirational role you played in the crafting of Kendrick’s seminal album. He couldn’t have done it without you.
