Jake Tapper Presses Trump on ‘Traditional Marriage’: You’ve Been Married Three Times

CNN’s Jake Tapper pressed Donald Trump today on “traditional marriage,” bringing up how he himself has been married three separate times.

After Trump affirmed he holds a more conservative position on gay marriage, Tapper asked him what he would say to a lesbian or gay couple who would point out that him being married three times isn’t exactly “traditional.”

Trump responded by saying he has a great marriage now with his wife Melania, and as for his past failed marriages, he said, “I blame myself because my business was so powerful for me.”

He deferred on how he would address the hypothetical question from a gay couple.
