So, just how much does House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi dislike President Donald Trump? So much so that she wants to go back to the days of George W. Bush occupying the White House.
During an appearance on Morning Joe and after questioning the president’s mental health, Pelosi told a story about her first meeting with Trump and how he used it to insist something that is demonstrably false. Expressing how big of a deal it is to sit down with a new president, the Democratic leader explained what Trump wanted to talk about first.
“The first thing he says — to open the meeting — you know I won the popular vote,” she recounted as the rest of the panel laughed.
After stating that since Trump was “being unconventional” she would as well, Pelosi mentioned how she “was respectful” with Bush and worked closely with him, leading co-host Joe Scarborough to ask her if she missed Bush.
“I wish he were president now,” she exclaimed. “I wish Mitt Romney were president. I wish John McCain were president.”
She went on to say that people voted for Trump “like any mammal will do — they were just voting in a certain way.”
‘That’s a good way of putting it,” co-host Mika Brzezinski responded.
