Once again, the Fox and Friends gang has made itself a platform for the dissemination of dangerously false medical information. On Monday morning’s F&F, during a discussion of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius‘ announcement that religious employers will have an extra year to comply with the preventive services mandate, Fox News legal analyst Peter Johnson, Jr. falsely claimed that the regs require such employers to “provide drugs that induce abortions.”

This past Sunday, prior to my interview with Up With Chris Hayes host Chris Hayes, I got to observe the last hour-and-a-half of MSNBC’s new, rapidly rising weekend political roundtable. In the last installment of Inside Up With Chris Hayes, we take you behind the scenes and show you what happens during the show’s much-talked-about, but never seen, commercial breaks with Hayes and panelists Reihan Salam, Rebecca Traister, Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, and Elise Jordan.

As the Shutdown Showdown grew nearer Friday night, CNN’s Eliot Spitzer hosted an intense segment with Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA12) and Big Journalism’s Dana Loesch, in which the trio discussed the Planned Parenthood budget rider, and its relationship to the Hyde Amendment. While the dustup made for great TV, it was also an excellent case study on the relative merits of advocacy and expertise, as Speier’s and Loesch’s escalating confrontation is handily settled by Spitzer’s legal smarts.

Last night, Glenn Beck had a textbook Glenn Beck-style address in which he hyperbolically dug into both progressive universities and Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius within the same 30 seconds.

At a briefing today Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius put the smackdown on NBC White House Correspondent Chuck Todd. But not for a report or a tough question – it all related to a sneeze gone wrong.

You see, you’re supposed to sneeze into your sleeve, and not your hands. Todd probably won’t forget after this.

Where were you a year ago today? If you are a political journalist — or media hanger-on — chances are you were living out of a suitcase at the 2008 Presidential Conventions, with the Dems nominating Barack Obama in Denver and the GOP nominating John McCain in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
