Cable news ratings, July 23, 2010: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:

Rick Sanchez’s new CNN prime time show has no shot of competing with FNC’s ratings powerhouse Bill O’Reilly at 8pmET, but so far he is getting beat by CNN and HLN too. In the A25-54 demographic, Sanchez had just 99,000 viewers in the demo, compared to 245,000 for MSNBC and 175,000 for HLN (and 664,000 for FNC).

Ed Schultz on MSNBC performed better in total viewers than CNN and HLN as well as both hours of Chris Matthews‘ MSNBC show.

Who cares about Sanchez, check out “Tingles” calling Obama “O’Carter” by mistake!

    Ha Ha

I love how Beck has the same audience as Hannity only at five o’clock!!!!!!

When will the folks at fox realize they need to swap time slots?

Ever notice how Hannity isn’t allowed on Beck or O’Reilly?

    Priceless…

Why swap time slots? Fox isn’t like the Democrats, when something works well, they don’t try to “fix” it.

I wonder if Sanchez will pick up viewers with time … maybe? I don’t think anyone should expect that hour to turn around in one night, maybe a month later he could be on par with Olbermann if he’s lucky, I don’t know.

I doubt it. He doesn’t even stop to pick up people he has hit with his car.

If I want to watch Ron Burgandy, I’ll watch the movie. This bozo is unwatchable.

Sanchez is a loser…he will only hurt CNN and make it harder for the disgraced governor to get any viewers when they finally put him on. Speaking of CNN, I tried to watch John King tonight, but fell asleep during his show.

(Not to mention Fox) BTW, I’m sure you’ll be able to run that headline right up until Rick gets cancelled.

This is an excellent analysis of Ricardo

Rick Sanchez of CNN is one bizarre character. He talks to the audience like they’re mentally disabled (though it is CNN, so perhaps this is forgivable) and he has this annoying habit of narrating what he’s going to do on the show: “Coming up, I’m going to show you a picture of the BP oil well. You will see oil seeping from the well; it will frighten you; it will be awe-inspiring. Producer Joe, why don’t you bring up that picture on the screen for my audience.” Hey, Rick, just show the damn picture.

Beyond his amateur news delivery, Sanchez is a liberal who is notorious for presenting half-truths and innuendo to his (meager) audience. In an effort to demonize Republicans last month, Sanchez tried to tie big oil to the GOP—but, of course, he omitted the fact that President Obama in 2008 received mega-bucks from BP.

And who could forget Sanchez’s attack on Latinos who work at Fox News. On his Twitter account, Sanchez wrote: “do u know how much money i’d make if i’d sold out as hispanic and worked at fox news, r u kidding, one problem, looking in mirror. if i didn’t believe in doing right thing, i’d be rich anchoring at fox news.”

The implication, of course, is that Latinos who work for the evil conservative Fox News are sell outs. Do you trust a man who thinks like this to accurately analyze the stories of the day?

You got to admit, Sanchez is about as big a joke as Kieth O, Both loosers, both wanabes, and will do anything to push an agenda or hide embarrassing truths about any and all Liberals. And they wonder why they have ratings they can only compare to other Liberal outlets. They are not News people, they either try to make the news or hide it. Where I come from that is called disingenuous at best and absolutely dishonest. AND Sanchez could not make it at FOX simply because he is he. Sanchez does not have the credibility nor honesty to report real news for anyone. I will admit tho, he does all he can to create news. Shame Shame Ricky

Chris Matthews: Where Do These Glenn Beck Characters Get Their “Weird-Ass” Flag And God Ideas

    video

I think it's entirely possible, judging by the continued tone of amazement in his voice, that Chris Matthews discovered Glenn Beck for the first time on August 28th. Today Matthews called out Beck again, complaining that "nothing is more bothersome to me...this notion that somehow only conservative and right-wingers are patriotic is nonsense!" He went on.

Obama: ‘You Didn’t Elect Me To Read The Polls And Figure Out How To Stay In Office’

    video

President Obama gave an impassioned speech on the economy today in Parma, Ohio, and seemed to not only go after his GOP adversaries, but also addressed his rather bleak poll numbers of late. Sounding at times like his speechwriter was Aaron Sorkin (creator of West Wing), Obama referenced other great Republican presidents like Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, and yes, even Ronald Reagan, claiming that they were "serious leaders for serious times." Could this be the renaissance of Barack Obama's mojo?
