Colbert Celebrates New SuperPAC By Immediately Swiping Credit Cards

video

Yesterday, the Federal Election Commission has officially approved Stephen Colbert’s SuperPAC, allowing him to create independent advertisements and raise unlimited campaign donations in the 2012 election cycle. Predictably, this was the focus of last night’s episode of The Colbert Report, which featured a number of segments dedicated to the newly approved SuperPAC. What was unpredictable was Colbert’s immediate fundraising efforts, which included his catching of wadded up bills thrown at him AND swiping of credit cards on his iPad. Good times!

Fact: Doesn’t matter that his candidate Phony and Chief will loose no matter how much is spent. Just hope he doesn’t throw out for the RINO’s Romney and Huntsman!

You would think the Lefty lemmings would want to donate to the Treasury instead:

    This can’t be a PAC. He’s just a comedian!

He’s done a brilliant job of pointing out the absurdity of the Super PAC system. Hope his point gets through…

I agree, though what would be really awesome is if he committed a violation and got charged with a federal crime. Now that would be funny.

I wonder if Stephen Colbert’s Superpac is a take off on “Citizens United.” I heard that Citizens United was awarded by the US Supreme Court, earlier this year in a decision 5 to 4 in the groups favor for the following:
In 2010 the US Supreme Court ruled that corporations can give unlimited contributions to what ever political party they want Plus there is absolutely no accountability to the reporting of how much money is given, to whom.
Below is a copy and paste from American Law Daily. typepad blog.
“The 5-1 vote by FEC commissioners allows Colbert–the eponymous star of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report–to form his own political action committee, which he has dubbed Colbert Super PAC. It also marks the latest chapter in Colbert’s satirical campaign against corporate fundraising in politics in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v. FEC, which allows corporations and labor unions to make unlimited contributions to support candidates.”
My words here . I rest my case.

That’s kind of the point; he hasn’t.

This is so freakin’ dumb!! Allowing Stephen Colbert to have a PAC? Talk about the courts making politics even more ridiculous.
