White House Responds To Rev. Franklin Graham’s ‘Preposterous Charges’

Video

Yesterday Reverend Franklin Graham appeared on This Week with Christiane Amanpour and commented that President Obama “has some issues to deal with” in order to prove the legitimacy of his American citizenship. He also hinted having doubts about Obama’s religious devotion, suggesting a church membership alone “doesn’t make you a Christian.” Today, the White House responded.

White House press secretary Jay Carney replied to a reporter’s question today on the subject:

“I would just say I think it’s unfortunate that a religious leader would choose Easter Sunday to make preposterous charges. And I’ll leave it at that.”

Graham did say Obama was a “nice man,” before suggesting “he can solve this whole birth certificate issue pretty quickly” if he just produced the document. With Graham also suggesting he liked Donald Trump as a presidential candidate, it seems apparent Obama is unlikely to receive any warm holiday greetings from the Reverend in the future.

Watch the clip below of Graham’s original comments from ABC:

Franklin Graham and his father are about as religious as Bill Maher,

Well, Franklin is correct. Expect the media to go into overdrive to demean and diminish Franklin; they are just so transparent in their campaigning for hehimself their obamasiah.

I hope that come election time, the angry left starts producing their own commercials (MoveOn, I’m looking at you!).

But I hope they cut to the heart of the matter, and go blunt.

“Hi, I’m Alec Baldwin for MoveOn.org. This election, you have to choices… the President, Barack Obama… or being racist. Sure, the country hasn’t greatly improved in the past 4 years, and there’s nothing terribly great on the horizon. And yes, President Obama broke more promises than he kept… but at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself, ‘Am I a racist?’ If you answer, ‘No,’ then there’s only one choice for you.

Remember this election day, you can vote for the Democrat… or we’ll call you a racist. The choice… is yours. Kinda.

Paid for by MoveOn.org, MSNBC-PAC, and unhinged Liberals everywhere.”

I have to agree that Gibbs was a better liar and a much better pit bull than Carney. It is sad that the media will now set about trying to destroy Franklin Graham and his father. They are vicious in their protection of Obama. If you listened to Graham’s comment you know exactly what he means and if you are an honorable person, it makes you stop and look into your own heart.

Barack’s original birth certificate is written ( drawn ) on a hut wall in Kenya using antalope blood and the new owners of the hut won’t give up the wall because it’s a sublet.

“Notorious” means well-known as such. Give us some (or maybe just a single) instances that prove your accusation of Billy Graham being anti-semitic. Otherwise, you join the growing trash pile of worthless Democrats with no credibility.

Don’t hold your breath. There is no such statement or quote. Billy Graham walked the walk that he talked. He was a great man and should not have been dragged into his son’s goofiness.

Yeah, and Rev. Billy’s 1972 comments to Richard Nixon about “Jews’ stranglehold on the American media” was just him walking the walk.

The “walk” was the Revs Graham waddling to the bank with the boodle they’ve made off their oft-fleeced flocks.

Billy was smoother than Franklin, but they both got rich selling salvation by the yard.

As it turns out, the MoveOn people are smarter than either of you (at least if your posts here are any guide) and better communicators as well. After all, they draw upon America’s creative-communications community for their material and production.

Any commercials they make (and yes, I’ll donate my bit to have them made) will be plenty sharp — not ham-fisted like your lame parody.

No, I know… and that was the point. I wish they would be HONEST about it, and tell the truth, instead of spin and pretend that calling those who disagree with them “racists” isn’t their MO.

But I guess you get what you pay for. Or at least, you do.

Ye shall judge a man by his works. Graham and these so-called Christians can go on all they want, but it’s their works that many of us find lacking. They are basically lackeys of the billionaire Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc who support these mostly fundamentalist religious organizations, and are against all progressive and spiritual ideologies. I find that most Evangelical Christian leaders have more in common with the awful Wahabbists who have done so much to denigrate Islam than with the millions of ordinary people who think of themselves as Christians. The only religious organizations worthy of respect are the ‘liberal’ ones who, at least, try to challenge the religious bigots who want to control our minds and our lives along with women’s bodies, not to mention the pederasts who prey on our youth. When was the last time a fundamenalist of any stripe proposed any type of progressive ideology like national health care or a serious reduction of our warmongering habits, or asking the insanely wealthy people in our country to contribute a little bit more to the nation. All they do is think charity will solve our social and economic problems. I should add that I am a true believer and I’m certain that Obama is as well. His actions and ideas have been totally distorted by people like Graham and all the other extreme rightwingers, and I know in my heart that God is appalled at the hypocrisy of these religious charlatans.

  • WHarropson

Whatever you do, don’t as a Christian for the truth on Easter Sunday.

What Obama believes about God matters a whole lot less than what people believe about Obama.

After all, It’s not his fault he was born a COMMUNIST.

We’re not just agnostic about Obama, we know what he intends and we want America to be exorcized from the spirit that has possessed them.

    Think of it this way:

What would Frank Marshall Davis Do?

That’s what Obama intends to do.

Now, would you like to pray?

Oh, heavens. Another person determined to pigeonhole me for their mental convenience. What ever shall I do? I know. I will again point out that if you actually read even a moderate sampling of my posts you might have noticed that I am pretty solidly on neither side.

In fact, I would be what you could call anti-side to coin a term.

I am rigidly No Party Affiliation and will not support MoveOn or The Tea Party since both are already part of the corrupt and tired 2 party system (despite their assertions otherwise) that has degenerated into what we now have, which is a thoroughly dysfunctional Congress and president thanks to the endless, pointless and generally counter productive hyper-partisanship on literally every single issue and matter. It is no longer about the governed or even governance. It is about the simple fact that the official motto of both parties is: “Whatever they are for, we are absolutely and irrevocably against.”

It takes alot of balls for Obama to be using Easter to attack someone with since this is part of the “sermon” he listened to on Easter Sunday:

One has to dig into the blog notes from various reporters to piece together the content from the sermon. Aside from the First Couple being honored guests, Pastor Wallace Charles Smith also announces that his 4 week old grandson is attending church for the first time, and a pool reporter noted an interesting perspective on the infant:

“[Pastor Smith] talked about how his baby grandson’s gurgling is actually “talking” because he is saying ‘I am here … they tried to write me off as 3/5 a person in the Constitution, but I am here right now … and is saying I am not going to let anybody from stopping me from being what God wants me to be.’”

The pastor hears American institutional racism in a baby’s gurgle? Do most people with infants hear Constitutional bigotry in their baby’s gibberish? Did any mention of the 3/5 clause or racism in general make it into the Easter service you attended? Is this pastor’s amazing leap from a baby bark to white oppression another coincidence to add to the list, or has he established a pattern of race baiting and white bashing in the past?

Hello Carney & kool-aid drinkers, put your bias aside & listen carefully Mr. Graham’s words. Is it a crime to wonder aloud the legitimacy of the POTUS birth or his faith? Is it blasphemy to question Obama’s birth place or his faith? How many times have you leftists questioned all things Bush? Graham didn’t quite come out & say that he “CHARGES” Obama of being an illegitimate POTUS nor that he is a not Christian. Compare this to Maddow’s story. Did she really subtly or “read between the lines” way say that Cooper needs to own up to his “alleged” gayness? Answer me this, does she get a pass?

first I pray for our nation. Second I pray for our leaders, it doesn’t matter if I voted for them or not. But when 2012 comes, I will be in the both to vote asking the one question everyone should ask. Am I better off today than I was four years ago. If no, then I’ll vote for someone new. If I can say yes, then I’ll still vote for someone new, because I would have to be out of my head to vote for someone who is doing his (Obama) best to run our nation in the ground….ooopss did i say that out loud….YES I DID

I served under Presidents Nixon thru Daddy Bush and had the Highest Respect of each and every one of them, even Jimah, but Obama is a different story. I would not serve in the military with him as CIC, no way, no how! As a soldier, we respected our officers because of their past record, which everyone knew, this was a good officer or a bad officer. With Obama, we have no idea who he really is and it would be so easy for him to prove himself and then tell all the questioners, STFU! But he refuses to do even that. My nephew wanted to join the military and I told him to wait until we rid ourselves of Obama because he is no leader and more soldiers have been killed under his command than in the whole eight before we had the misfortune to have him take over. His ROE (Rules of Engagement) are Insane, just as reading Miranda Rights to terrorists. One thing America truly needs right now is a REAL LEADER, not some Cracker Jack Idiot who cannot even prove who he is. This shows a total Lack of HONOR and INTEGRITY on Obama’s part! NOBAMA 2012!

ALLEN WEST 2012! A proven Leader, Patriot, and a Real Born American with a REAL BC he is not afraid to show!

What a thing for a good chriswtian pastor to do.
I don’t trust good christians, they speak loudest and throw stones.
When do people quite using the word “Christian” to hide behind while lying and cheating and stealing.
I probably have more faith and belief in God than these outspoken bible thumpers doing their back stabbing and being politicians. Have you nooticed most have degrees in psychology, which is designed to control people.
Don’t be fools and follow some church doctrin or some self proclaimed saint in a preachers robe.
They are politicians and the bible is not. Read it for yourself, unless you don’t know how to read.
You just don’t need someone interpreting it for you they do that so you believe what they want you to while forking over your money. Which they are pleased to take.
