It’s not difficult.  Countries that have promised too much and borrowed too much are now collapsing under the weight of their own national debts.  The socialist model doesn’t work.  Why does the left want to embrace an economic system which has repeatedly been an abject failure?

Don’t point to the rich as if taxing them more – wait – confiscating all their wealth is going to help.  Imagine you did confiscate all their wealth, where would you go to the next time you needed to appropriate wealth?

What doesn’t he get?! The budget is not
balanced. The money not being spent on the war only means the deficit is
smaller.   And if we were to raise the taxes, the Democrats will say, “Look at all the tax revenue!  Let’s spent it!”

Clovis4 apparently you don’t pay attention much to what is going on. Spain has more than 20% unemployment and a government that can’t pay its bills. You remember Spain the example of what green energy can do to transform a country and create millions of green jobs, you remember in 2008 that a certain presidential candidate held up Spain as an example of what he was going to do here??  Of course you do, you just pretend to have forgotten becase it is convenient for your dilliusion support of a president who is pursuing policies that we know for certain lead to failure. Spain is still the example of what happens when a country pursues green energy policy. Things like Solyndra happen on a large scale and a country collapses. There are riots in the streets of Greece because the government can no longer keep the promises it has made to its citizens in order to buy their votes.  Italy is next and France is not far behind.  Europe isn’t the boogieman it is concrete evidence of what will happen here if we re-elect Obama or any other politician unable to cut the federal government spending and stop telling people the government can continue to give them free stuff.

Wow I didn’t hear.  Perhaps you can enlighten me.  I was wondering if the global economic slowdown has impacted all 43 nations on the European Continent, or just the 27 members of the European Union.  I was also wondering if the austerity measures implemented in some of the member nations are having the desired impact, there are some economists who think it will only make matters worse, can you give me you thoughts on that aspect of the recovery to date. 

I understand that some people think Europe is some sort of monolithic entity with one government (much like the country of Africa in Palin’s world) but that is not the case.  So when the poster talks about their values and principles, I wonder if he is talking about the 3 countries who have outlawed abortion, or the nation with the highest gun ownership and most relaxed guns laws in the world, or the nation that outlawed divorce, or the nation that actively exploits all of its oil resources, or the fact that most European nations have lower corporate taxes thus promoting start up businesses.   Are these the socialist principles he is referring to?  Or is it the fact that in most countries the citizens enjoy universal health care and get more vacation than the average American? 

The right has been using Europe as something to be afraid of, and I just haven’t heard one example of what we are supposed to be afraid of.  Considering the diversity of the countries of Europe, stump speech statements like European Socialist and principles are bad; make no sense unless you are a fool (no offense).
