Scarborough Rips Trump For ‘Humiliating’ Cohen at Son’s Bar Mitzvah: I’ve Never Met Anyone ‘That Hateful’

Joe Scarborough ripped President Donald Trump on Friday over a Wall Street Journal report detailing his brutal mistreatment of his personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

The WSJ report includes one particularly humiliating anecdote: the time Trump showed up late to Cohen’s son’s bar mitzvah, and then in his speech ridiculed his lawyer for begging him to show up to the event.

“Reading that article made me flinch time and time again,” Scarborough said on Morning Joe. “There was so many times that Donald Trump went out of his way to publicly humiliate Michael.”

Scarborough explained the anecdote from Cohen’s son’s bar mitzvah, lamenting, “I don’t know who does that.”

“It’s unbelievably cold and callous to try to humiliate a man at his son’s bar mitzvah,” Scarborough said. “Again, I literally have never met, in 55 years, anybody that would be that hateful to anybody else.”

MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch, who has a personal relationship with Cohen, explained that Trump didn’t bring his personal lawyer to Washington D.C. to serve in the administration because he wanted him to stick with the Trump Organization in New York.

Scarborough pointed out Trump “humiliated” Cohen again on Fox & Friends Thursday, when he said the lawyer did a “tiny” portion of his legal work. The Morning Joe host added that the president threw Cohen under the bus with his comments about the investigation.

Deutsch and Scarborough agreed that Trump’s comments about Cohen don’t help in his efforts to keep the lawyer from cooperating with investigators.
