Fox News Releases Criteria for Next Week’s GOP Debate

Screen Shot 2016-01-21 at 6.32.59 PMFox News tonight released its criteria for next week’s big Republican debate, and the number of candidates on the main stage could potentially be shrinking.

Any candidate who wants to be on the big primetime debate stage needs to be in the top six spots nationally in an average of the five most recent polls or, at the very least, be in the top five in Iowa in New Hampshire in an average of state polls.

Fox will be looking at polls up until those released on next Tuesday, two days before the big debate.

And yes, before you ask, yes, there will be an earlier undercard debate, and in order to qualify for it candidates need to hit at least one percent in one Fox’s five most recent national polls.

The primetime debate will be moderated by Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, and Chris Wallace; the earlier debate will be moderated by Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum.
