George Papadopoulos‘ lawyers have formally applied for a presidential pardon.
Papadopoulos, the former campaign aide charged in the Mueller probe, made that revelation in an interview with Reuters:
“My lawyers have applied for a pardon from the president for me,” Papadopoulos said in an interview with Reuters, adding that the request was made a few days ago. “If I’m offered one I would love to accept it, of course.”
Papadopoulos is also considering trying to withdraw his guilty plea.
As Reuters reported earlier, in his new book Papadopoulos “disavowed his guilty plea” and said “he was unfairly pressured into cutting a deal.”
