Graham to Paul, Cruz: You Don’t Destroy ISIS by Shouting About Refugees

grahamSenator Lindsey Graham called out his Republican rivals––chiefly Ted Cruz and Rand Paul––for “yelling” about refugees instead of focusing on the more pressing issue of beating ISIS. Both Cruz and Paul have taken strong stands against letting in refugees.

On Concord News Radio this week, Graham said, “The refugee problem needs to be responsibly dealt with. I am calling for a time out until we can figure out a what kind of system works.”

But that being said, he directed the following remark to Cruz and Paul: “You’re not gonna destroy ISIL by shutting down refugee flows, there’s 20 different ways to get here as you just described.”

Basically, Graham thinks there are many other ways ISIS could come to the United States, saying that “the refugees are a symptom of the problem.”

And he posed this question to his rivals:

“Are you willing to do what it takes to destroy ISIL? Are you willing to commit American ground forces in support of a regional army to destroy the caliphate? If you’re not, then you’re not ready to be the Commander-in-Chief, in my view, and you’re really no different than Obama.”
