Politico dropped a report late Thursday night stating that a lawyer for the Trump transition team has instructed those who worked for the transition to save any documents related to the numerous Russian probes currently being conducted.
In the memo from a transition lawyer, campaign officials were told to preserve all documents related to the Russian Federation, Ukraine and a number of campaign advisers and officials, including former campaign manager Paul Manafort, advisers Carter Page, Rick Gates and Roger Stone, and former national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn.
The memo read that “current and former personnel” from the transtion team “have a responsibility to ensure that” all documents are “properly preserved.”
According to Politico, the lawyer who wrote the memo is Kory Langhofer, who previously worked on the campaigns for Mitt Romney and Carly Fiorina. He also advised the transition members to save foreign travel records.
Based on the memo, it would appear that the Senate and House investigations, as well as the one being conducted by special counsel Robert Mueller, are ramping up and the scope of the probes is becoming more clear.
Earlier in the evening, it was reported that the special counsel was investigating White House senior advisor Jared Kushner’s business dealings.
