Organizers for the Paralympic Games responded to President Trump after he said during a ceremony that the games were “tough to watch.”
When Trump hosted athletes from the 2018 Winter Games at the White House on Friday, he had this to say about the Paralympians who competed in Pyeongchang.
“What happened with the Paralympics was so incredible and so inspiring to me, and I watched – it’s a little tough to watch too much – but I watched as much as I could.”
As it were, the Paralympic Games’ official Twitter account has some thoughts about that statement.
“Record numbers around the world are not finding @Paralympics tough to watch,” the account tweeted. “Billions of viewers now take in the Paralympics in hundreds of countries around the world. We hope the US President continues to watch and be inspired by the Paralympics.”
