‘That Was Not My Question!’: CNN Anchor Grills GOP Rep Over Trump’s Attacks on Intel Community

Things got a bit feisty this afternoon on CNN when anchor Poppy Harlow relentlessly pressed Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to answer questions about President-elect Donald Trump’s disparagement of the intelligence community.

Following a portion of the interview discussing Trump’s feud with civil rights hero John Lewis, Harlow pivoted to the incoming POTUS’s critical treatment of the intelligence agencies of late. Highlighting CIA Director John Brennan’s appearance on Fox News this morning where he said Trump needs to recognize his words have impact and the signal he’s sending to our adversaries, Harlow asked Blackburn if she would like to see Trump “stop disparaging the intelligence community.”

After the Tennessee lawmaker responded that she has a lot of trust in Mike Pompeo as the incoming CIA director, Harlow pushed back.

“That’s not my question,” Harlow said. “My question was would you like to see the president-elect stop disparaging the intelligence community.”

Following Blackburn not directly answering her question, Harlow moved on to Trump comparing the intelligence community to Nazi Germany, asking Blackburn if that language was appropriate. When the GOP rep tried to pivot to bringing up something Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said, Harlow interjected.

“We can actually talk about Senator Schumer’s comment after you address my question which was about the president-elect,” Harlow exclaimed.
