Trump Crows About Manufacturing Job Growth, Swipes at Obama: ‘I Guess I Found the MAGIC WAND’
President Donald Trump is crowing over statistics showing manufacturing adding more jobs last year than in any other over the past two decades — and he’s taking a swipe at his predecessor in the process.
In a Monday morning tweet, Trump boasted about the manufacturing job numbers — which, according to CNBC, were the highest since 1997 — and also jabbed at former President Barack Obama.
“Last year was the best year for American Manufacturing job growth since 1997, or 21 years,” Trump wrote. “The previous administration said manufacturing will not come back to the U.S., ‘you would need a magic wand.’ I guess I found the MAGIC WAND – and it is only getting better!”

The magic reference dates back to comments Obama made in 2016, suggesting Trump would need one in order to generate manufacturing jobs.
“He just says, ‘Well, I’m going to negotiate a better deal.’ Well, how exactly are you going to negotiate that?” Obama said. “What magic wand do you have? And usually the answer is, he doesn’t have an answer.”
