Trump Hits NFL Commish Roger Goodell: ‘Lost Control of Hemorrhaging League’

President Donald Trump was up and at ’em early on Friday, cranking out some Tweets shortly after sunrise in Mar-a-Lago.

In his first dispatch of the morning at 6:48 a.m. ET, the President took a shot at a favorite target — the NFL. Specifically, he took on commissioner Roger Goodell for not penalizing players who kneel during the National Anthem.

“Can you believe that the disrespect for our Country, our Flag, our Anthem continues without penalty to the players,” Trump wrote. “The Commissioner has lost control of the hemorrhaging league. Players are the boss!”

The President retweeted his social media director, Dan Scavino, who retweeted an article calling attention to New York Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon, who took a knee during the Anthem prior to Thursday night’s game against the Washington Redskins to protest racial and social injustice. Vernon was the only known player to take a knee during the Anthem prior to any of the three Thanksgiving Day NFL games.
