Readers will recall the ’09 Obama as the fresh-faced former U.S. Senator with high-minded aspiration to bring about a post-partisan Washington. His gray-haired counterpart is a bit less optimistic, cautioning that one would inevitably “fall short of the ideal.”
“Always use Purell,” outgoing Obama advised. “You’re going to be shaking a lot of hands.”
