So, How Awkward Was Wolf Blitzer’s Segue From John Kerry to JFK Assassination Movie?

Coming out of a breaking news segment detailing Secretary of State John Kerry’s Iran deal announcement late Saturday evening, CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer threw to the network’s special documentary about the assassination of John F Kennedy. He just could have done it a li’l more gracefully:

“I’m Wolf Blitzer, reporting from Washington. The assassination of President Kennedy begins…right now.”

A touch on the nose? Blitzer was referring to The Assassination of President Kennedy, the movie, but if you’d been glued to the television machine for Iran coverage, the transition was still somewhat jarring, especially if you’ve made peace with Blitzer as a breaking news delivery system.
