Tucker Mocks SDNY Charges: Trump ‘Paid Ransom’ in Response to ‘Extortion’ Campaign, Now He’s a ‘Felon’
On Monday night, Tucker Carlson defended Donald Trump from the “false outrage” of the last few days by saying the president was the victim of “extortion” from Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.
Ever since the Southern District of New York implicated Trump over Michael Cohen‘s campaign finance violations, the political and media worlds are ablaze with questions about Trump’s legal vulnerability. Carlson reacted to Trump’s alleged campaign finance crimes by sarcastically remarking that “the Trump Administration is over, toast, cooked, done for good.”
Carlson reviewed the legal storm surrounding Trump, he characterized the situation thusly: “Two women approached Donald Trump and threatened to ruin his career and humiliate his family if he doesn’t give them money.”
Carlson went on to grumble that Cohen paid the “ransom” on behalf of his former boss, and now, “Trump is a felon for doing this” two years later. The Fox News host went to say it was “insultingly stupid” for people to argue that Trump was legally obligated to publicly disclose the money he spent to protect his image.
