Cloudy With A Chance Of “I Do”: Live Proposal on the Wedding Channel!

On Sunday night, Weather Channel meteorologist Kim Perez got a surprise at the office — her boyfriend Marty Cunningham live, on the air, with a ring. AWWWWWWW, said the Internet collectively, relieved to have a new feel-good hero to make us feel a little less terrified about all those would-be terrorists training in Yemen. Marty Cunningham is the anti-Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab! Or something. Watch below:

Aw. I think we ALL love Marty Cunningham now. The best part is how her voice changes when she sees him, and he says “How are you?” as he interrupts her live broadcast to propose to her, and she says “Good.” Also, note the hed on the screen: “Ringing in the New Year.” Ha.

Hat tip to Lindsay Robertson, Daily Intel via Twitter. List of social media marriage proposals at Mashable. For the record, getting down on one knee — IRL — will never go out of style.

But also, really Weather Channel? Embedding disabled by request? Sheesh.

Seems a little “fake” – she doesn’t seem genuinely surprised IMO.
Regardless, best of luck to them!

Last week, there was a fun one at the end of “CNN Tonight.” The magic-wall producer proposed to his girlfriend on Central Park’s skating rink, and CNN caught it on their roofcam and aired it, along with Ali Velshi’s best wishes.

CNN Reports: Protesters Shout Racial And Gay Slurs At Lewis And Frank (Update)

    video

"Rising tensions on Capitol Hill" is a cliche in cable news, but it may never have been apt than today. With the House currently negotiating a controversial vote on a health care reform, protesters have gathered to voice their opposition to the bill. CNN's Capitol Hill reporter Dana Bash reports today of personally witnessing epithets being used towards John Lewis (D-GA) and Barney Frank (D-MA) by protesters that were identified earlier as "Tea Party people."

Obama’s Final Push On Health Care To Democratic Caucus On Capitol Hill

    video

President Barack Obama spoke in the conference hall of the Capitol today about the health care reform bill which is coming close to meeting enough votes to pass in the House of Representatives, which earlier today decided not use the "deem and pass" strategy to railroad the bill through Congress. "I know this is a tough vote for some of you," said our president, adding "Don't do it for Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, or me. Do It for the American People." Pay attention folks, this speech is definitely one for the history books.
