Great YouTube Video In The Making? McCain Invites Obama To The Border

video

If President Obama‘s is looking for a chance to add his own contribution to the growing canon of political YouTube videos filmed along the Arizona – Mexico border, this may be his chance. In an interview this morning with Jake Tapper on This Week Sen. John McCain invited President Obama to visit the Arizona border.

“[Sen.] Jon Kyl and I invite the President to come to the Arizona Sonora border. The violence is incredibly high…The human smuggling and drug cartels are at a level of violence where 23,000 Mexican citizens have been murdered in the last few years. … There is a level of violence which has increased to a significant degree which makes the situation far different than it was in 2007.”

“We have to secure the borders…We can get it secure then we can move on with comprehensive immigration reform. But I invite the President to come to the border and he can see for himself the absolute necessity of getting our border secure.”

One gets the sense that no matter how many unforeseen emergencies the president has land on his plate over the next few months he is not going to be able to shake the border problem from the national headlines. The visuals lately have become too powerful. Moreover, if AZ Gov. Jan Brewer is looking for a follow-up to her Arizona border sign video this could be it: a viral invite to Obama to come to the border himself.

Happy Birthday America! We rejoice at our founding, while today, the libs burn our flag and wear their Mao shirts in the hope of seeing the destruction of our great republic.

  • Thomas G Williams

Why any one would join McCAIN or Kyl on the border is something i could not imagine. McCAIN would surrender to the enemy, and Kyl would lie about why the enemy is the enemy and he would surrender to the CORPORATE FORCES OF AMERICA as a proxy for as yet un-named corporate forces,

Brewer was safe on the border and yet McCain claims 23000 people have died in the jurisdiction of AZ under Brewer, seems he wants the wrong person on the border to answer for this clearly partisan lie on his part, no wonder his own daughter is becoming a Democrat b proxy.

Go away and STFU sore loser Mcinsane.

  • notsofast

I bet you are an illegal lib!

  • Thomas G Williams

joining the enemy with McSurrender ? or are you involved in the next lie KYL wants to tell?

go and join the military then after 6 plus years you can comment till then STFU

  • TfT

Every President suffers unforeseen emergencies….why is it for this one, the media makes excuses for his inability to handle them.

I doubt the President will bother going to AZ; after all, his admin has joined with the Mexican Government to sue AZ for doing their job — protecting their citizens. Unbelievable.

  • BatBoy

    “McCAIN would surender”

Reconstruction must be a fun business to be in…does it pay well…or…is that a job that American’s don’t want to do?

Sorry, you fascist lib, you don’t give me the right to speak, the 1st. amendment does. You know, the amendment that libs want to abolish.

  • BatBoy

Thomas G Williams sounds like he may have spent some time in the military….

Which one and for which country…I am just not sure!

  • notsofast

He was a cook in the Navy and he never saw combat.

If McCain thinks that a photo op “on the border”, someplace, is an indication of action, he’d better just go back to living off his wife.

Arizona has plenty of accountability in this mess. For many years, Arizona’s legislators give a wink and a nod to the importing and exploitation of cheap labor; paid as little as possible with no benefits, amounting to slave wages. Arizona has made its bed in that respect, now it needs to do its own work. BTW, most of the reduction in illegal residence here has to do with the economy.

The U.S. has a huge demand for illegal drugs, one of the highest in the world. We finance the drug cartel wars.

What the hell did you think was going to happen?

  • notsofast

What do libs call illegal immigrants? Illegal democrats.

  • writer

Far lefties such as Thomas G. should lead by example. Since they attack anyone who speaks out against illegals, they should open their homes and invite these people to live with them. After all, they claim it isn’t costing the country anything. They should also not have locks on the doors of their homes. Anyone should be allowed to come and go as they please. If they think the country should follow that policy, then they should follow it themselves.

What did the Liar-in-chief say during his campaign?

Obama to Push Immigration Bill as One Priority

    By JULIA PRESTON
    New York Times
    Published: April 8, 2009

While acknowledging that the recession makes the political battle more difficult, President Obama plans to begin addressing the country’s immigration system this year, including looking for a path for illegal immigrants to become legal, a senior administration official said on Wednesday.

Mr. Obama will frame the new effort — likely to rouse passions on all sides of the highly divisive issue — as “policy reform that controls immigration and makes it an orderly system,” said the official, Cecilia Muñoz, deputy assistant to the president and director of intergovernmental affairs in the White House.

He said then that comprehensive immigration legislation, including a plan to make legal status possible for an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants, would be a priority in his first year in office.

There goes that darn Teleprompter again…

Making President “I am only a Community Organizer” Obama say thing he doesn’t mean!

While it said..”.would be a priority in his first year in office!”

It should have read…” will be the lowest priority for my regime during my reign!”

    Bad Teleprompter….Bad Bad Bad!

  • BR

Lets try this. For all of the liberals who want the illegals to be able to stay, offer them this. They (liberals) can give the illegals their spot in the usa, and the liberals can take the illegals spot in Mexaco. The illegals CANT be any worse than the liberals.

Barrack doesnt have time for this crap..
He s got more important things to do like pictures with sports teams, giving self kudos for the healthcare bill, and acting like he gives a crap about the bp disaster…

  • murf

RTB — you are 100% correct .. I would bet my life even AFTER the fact of being openly humilated for NOT reading the bill before opening that vomit filled mouth , BHO to this day– has NOT read SB 1070 AZ bill . I guarantee it !

““…The human smuggling and drug cartels are at a level of violence where 23,000 Mexican citizens have been murdered in the last few years. …”

Ummm…in that same time period 64,000 Americans have been murdered in this country.

If you ask me it is Mexico who should be locking OUR crazy asses out of their nation.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, the 23,000 number for Mexico is for DRUG RELATED murders only!

Mexican city is ‘murder capital of the world’

Ciudad Juarez, the Mexican city gripped by a drug cartel war, has laid new claim to the title “murder capital of the world” as the number of killings so far this year passed 2,000.

By Nick Allen in Los Angeles
    Published: 6:44PM BST 22 Oct 2009

The city of 1.5 million people just across the border from El Paso, Texas, had 1,600 murders last year but in 2009 that total was exceeded by late summer.

Latest figures from the Chihuahua state attorney general’s office showed there were 195 this month alone.

The annual murder rate has now reached 133 per 100,000 inhabitants, surpassing Caracas, Venezuela. The comparable murder rate in New York last year was six per 100,000.

Why doesn’t ‘Bam go to the border? The Drug Cartels love this guy as much as Soros does. Whoever would have thought that President ‘Hopey’Changey would be the biggest shill for these two plagues?

  • http://SailRabbits.com Magister

You know, I’ve lived and have traveled throughout the border region and I didn’t realize that violence was an intangible, one can see without it actually occurring at that moment in time, right in front of your eyes.

And as for what candidate Obama suggested to be added to some old legislation, if its not in the current bill and if Sen. McCain isn’t wanting to modify specific parts, why does it matter? Though of course, the reality is that John McCain hasn’t faced an easy route to re-election in a number of cycles and this time he’s a bit more worried, so he’s willing to throw what could be another signature piece of legislation under the bus..

  • murf

Magister– I agree throughout the years MCCain has tried to pander to the minority vote [ Kennedy/McCain immigration bill ] .. It didn’t work.. He is taking a harder stance against illegal immigration now, and it’s paying off dividends in Az … Without that he would be losing to Hayworth .

  • Big_F-ing_Deal

I’m pretty sure McCain and Kyl want Obama to visit the border so they can throw him over it and then he can’t get back in because he’s not a citizen.

Barack is much too smart for that trick.

  • murf

Biggie , how did sermon to blind orphans go ?

  • ciara500

I believe McCain was talking about the 23,000 thousand people that was found beheaded, mutilated and murdered in Mexico by the drug cartels and the drug trafficking gangs. Really, I it may be more. I hear about 5,000 plus has been killed just this year. I live here in the Phoenix area and there is a lot going on here in this area. The way things are going on in Mexico and around this area, I dont believe Kyle lied about the meeting with Obama. The WH was just trying to cover up.
Obama wants to give amnesty to the illegals so they can have a pathway for citizen ship. If he get what he wants, which is to merge the US with Mexico. Then we will have open borders.
The border must be gotten under controll. It ‘s time for the state of Arizona to confront the Obama administration about this issue.Get a consenus on the definition of border security and establish a means of setting a standard that must be met before any discussions of immigration reform begins.
I don’t blame anyone wanting to come here for a better life, just come legally.

  • ciara500

I think McCain has been sitting on the fence for a long time. In all honesty, I will not vote for him. Where have all the good candidates gone? We really need someone in office that will stand up for America, and have the guts to say so.

  • http://SailRabbits.com Magister

@ciara50: A President can’t unilaterally merge with ours. And even if Mexico were somehow willing to become part of the US, something I find doubtful, a treaty or purchase would have to be ratified by the Senate. It’s not just something that can be done by a President by himself.

  • http://SailRabbits.com Magister

^can’t unilaterally merge another country or territory with ours.^

If it was true Obama only read half of it, at least he got that far. Bush couldn’t have gotten past 3 sentences with out looking up and saying “what does that mean?”

  • writer

Bush and Obama are very similar concerning people entering the country illegally. Bush did nothing to stop it and Obama is doing nothing to stop it.

  • RTB

Oh god, what would we do with out all you bush bashers….
Atleast bush had a pair between his legs, barrack is completely gutless….especially with the israel, arizona situations and the apollogy tour he did last year and the shaking of hands with hugo chavez….i d rather have a cowboy than a coward in office…left or right.

  • NORBIT

President Teleprompter can’t go to the border because he’s targeted in like a laser on the economy, remember?

…or was it the oil spill cleanup, or the phony numbers on health care, or the Afghanistan slaughter; well, whatever it is doesn’t matter, because he’s ineffective at everything! – and, he’s not a very reasoned thinker either!

ps) Do we have an update on the chills running up Chris Matthews leg?

The only thing between Bush’s legs was limp. Same as between his ears. Cheney on the other hand… Big, big, big balls… “why this shit ain’t a game anymore”. (That’s a direct quote from jihadkiller. Don’t want to be accused of stealing his line.)

In all seriousness, what is wrong with trying diplomacy? Have you never disagreed with someone for a very long time and then at some point worked towards finding a way you could agree to disagree and move on?

And I realize that is way over simplified for countries, but what is so inherently bad about diplomacy?

  • maxine

    @RTB

I will have to agree that I have always thought and said that the Republicans at least have backbone to stick to what they want. And the Democrats sorely lose in that respect. Problem is with the Reps. they won’t give an inch for the greater good of all at all, only them and their agenda. And their agenda really does not include very many people.

  • RTB

^i agree with that last one maxine….we should not be cramming our american ideaologies on foreign countries. Everyone in the world is different. The goal is america (or atleast that should be our goal) wants peace in the world and a democracy for all. But again, different strokes for different folks, the entire world is not and should not copy exactly what the usa is all about. The only reason we should get involved in other countries business is when countries like iran, north korea threaten the world with nuclear weapons or a mass threat. But it eerks the hell out of me how barrack has danced around critical issues with the instances i mentioned above and has really shown no backbone with our other allies….hillary clinton has shown more than he has, he couldnt even stand up to pelosi when she was running the house into the ground, HTL is he gonna stand up to other issues that are critical…hell i didnt even mention mexico and there president coming over here and making a mockery of our goverment….no hype or bs? America is maybe the most vulnerable it has been in a very long time…

  • maxine

I’ll give you that one. This country is a mess, has been long before Obama stepped in, though. How it’s gonna play out is anyones guess. The longer we continue to stay divided as a country the weaker we become. It’s one thing to have a strong military (something I believe in) and its another to use those resources unwisely. You know I voted Bush both times. But I have to say, I was not happy with his administration as early as when they went into Iraq. I didn’t understand it then and I don’t know. And then the continuous fear factor they played us with and the right still continues to this day. It is one thing to stay awake and aware but not fearful 24/7. Fear might motivate but I believe a lot more bad decisions rise out of fear than they do when you use a clear head. Thats the second biggest problem I have with the right. Their fear mongering. It’s all doom and gloom with them. To my recollection the only one that wasn’t all doom and gloom was Reagan and then we found out he had dementia.. would only figure!
