The Arizona Diamondbacks are expected to be protested outside of Wrigley Field today when they take on the Chicago Cubs. The protest is in opposition to Arizona’s new immigration laws, and this won’t be the only one.

The MLB should boycott the 2011 All-Star Game in Phoenix over Arizona’s harsh new immigration law.

That is the idea being set forth by activists at Change.org and Daily Kos, who view the influx of tourism and publicity Arizona will reap from an All-Star Game, prominently featuring Hispanic players, as unwarranted.

April 4 is Major League Baseball’s opening day, with the World Champion New York Yankees playing the always dangerous Boston Red Sox at 8p in Fenway Park. After Friday’s new media showdown between MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann (via his MLB blog) and ESPN’s Bill Simmons (via his Twitter feed), all was quiet over the weekend.
