Gov. Jerry Brown: U.S. Facing ‘Regime Crisis’ Similar To ‘Civil War’

video

California Governor Jerry Brown believes the country is more divided now than at any time since the Civil War. In an interview with Los Angeles television station KCBS/KCAL, Brown insisted the situation is serious–and scary. Brown said “the legitimacy of our very democratic institutions are in question.”

KCBS/KCAL reports Brown has been using “Civil War metaphors” at public appearances around California over the last week, as he talks to voters about deep divisions at the state Capitol in Sacramento. Brown says the hostility he faces from Republicans as he works to balance the state budget mirrors the fighting underway in Washington:

“We are at a point of civil discord, and I would not minimize the risk to our country and to our state. It is not trivial. I’ve been around a long time, I’m a student of history, I’m a student of contemporary politics. We are facing what I would call a ‘regime crisis.’ The legitimacy of our very democratic institutions are in question,” he said.

I guess the fact that he is also an opportunistic piece of _______ slipped his mind.

Jerry Brown & balance the state budget. Now there’s an oxymoron if I ever did see / hear one.

What we are facing Moonbeam, is the eventual demise of our once robust country due to the policies and practices of people just like you. You are a consummate liberal whose failure to see that money doesn’t grow on trees or get “shat” from the magic government unicorn has finally reached the breaking point. Your state is broke, your brains are fried and your constituents will all soon be rudely awakened.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it was probably one stupid Californian or another.

Nothing could help this country as a whole, more than California simply breaking off of the shelf and floating the fu*k away for ever and ever. That or give it back to Mexico.

I agree. When anti-American Liberals push, distort, and pervert our Constitution and our American system as far as they have for the past 40 years, the only result can be division………………and deep enough division will bring civil war. It’s no wonder anti-American Democrats work diligently to collapse our economy to ‘justify’ a new system built around a government diety,………….they must think that will cover-up their guilt.

Thanks Liberals. We didn’t really need to be the greatest nation in history, anyway…………..

  • joe7

Well this two paradigm system we have is ridiculous.

Anyway, did Dead Kennedys “California Uber Alles” come to mind for anyone? Maybe Governor Brown should run for President in order to ‘save us’

  • SeanW

Yes, indeed our democratic institutions are very much at risk. We are at risk because of professional politicians whom have no marketable skill set whatsoever. We are at risk because of the vast amounts of money that our politicians take from foreign and monied interests. We are at risk because idiot politicians can do absolutely nothing but say the other party is at fault, even though both parties take huge sums of money from the same sources. We are at risk because politicians, rather than seeking to represent the American people, will redraw district lines to keep themselves in office. We are at risk because instead of 14,000 citizens to each member of the House we are at 800,000 citizens per rep. We are no longer represented at any level of government and it is getting pretty damn close to the time to burn the whole thing down and send em all out on a boat. Politicians, Lobbyists, Special Interests, Labor Unions, and Corporations all have one goal: to molest you while you beg them for more.

We’re about two steps away from the Progressives bringing up the culling of people they find unnecessary, right out in the open. Just get it over with and admit it already.

We could sell it to China.

  • MrTPar_taY

Jerry Brown can honestly make this analogy as he’s been around since the Civil War.

  • J Baustian

Quote: “We are facing what I would call a ‘regime crisis.’ The legitimacy of our very democratic institutions are in question,” [Brown said].

Brown is not wrong and he is not exaggerating.

We currently have one major political party that wants to overturn the Constitution and turn the country into a satrap of a global socialist despotism. That party will use any and all corrupt methods to gain power and keep it.

At some point those who want to preserve our Republic and our constitutional liberties may have to defend them with force. I hope that day never comes, and in fact I don’t think it will. But the risks are greater today than at any other time in the last 150 years.

California has been inundated with hoards of illegal aliens trespassers with 71% of them on some sort of welfare. Our school system alone, with thousands of illegal alien children, are sucking up $7.7 Billion annually. Our jails and prisons are full of illegal aliens criminals. Close to 100 hospitals have been forced to close their emergency-rooms because illegals are using them as their primary health care, with the hospitals assuming the cost. This year alone we will have a deficit close to $25 Billion, with an overall deficit of over $130 Billion.
Jerry “moonbeam” Brown, has frozen State hiring, is trying to raise taxes on everything possible, and is doing everything he can to keep from doing the OBVIOUS!! We have 3.5 million illegal alien parasites feeding off of what’s left of the legal taxpaying citizens of this state, and not one word about deporting these parasites. We have two worthless state Senators (Boxer & Feinstein) , who have now taken to referring to the illegal aliens as…get this…..EMBEDDED IMMIGRANTS?!! Half of our annually deficit is do to illegal aliens, and our crime statistics are soring, and all we get out of this Governor is, the usually political finger pointing, dog&pony show these worthless political-beggars like to play instead of doing what the hell they were put in office to do!

I like the picture of our governer chosen for the article. This is a guy it would be natural to feel sorry for in these circumstances. But what do you do about a sincere publick servant who has been and is now a fitting ICON of budget disasters. California gets what it asked for and what it got was a perpetuating budget crysis. reinforced by a Governor whose poliieas will perpetuate it as woo
