Journalism Saves: Local Pennsylvania TV Reporter Rescues Cat From Tree
Superman. Spider-Man. Batman. Sheldon Ingram. All brave, selfless heroes doing their part to keep America running like a well-oiled machine, or one of those little balls filled with catnip.
After learning that the local fire department washed their hands of Moo the cat – a black and white housecat that had been trapped in a tree for over a week – Pennsylvania-based Channel 4 Action News’ Ingram took it upon himself to organize a rescue. A helpful neighbor loaned Ingram a ladder which, unfortunately, was about fifteen feet too short to reach Moo. Ingram was eventually able to entice the cat to jump to lower branches with the help of his favorite treat. And all was well for little Moo, who is free once again to cough up matted balls of hair wherever he so pleases.
As his bio on the “Dancing with the Celebrities of Pittsburgh” webpage reveals, Ingram has long been something of a cat lover:
Ingram also has two exotic Bengal cats, Diego and Cezar. They are five generations removed from the Asian Wild Leopard Cat.
