Opposition trackers are a nuisance to political campaigns: They follow a candidate around with cameras and record everything that person says, hoping to capture a slip-up that will ruin that person’s political aspirations. Most campaign teams do their best to spot trackers and make their lives difficult; others simply ignore them. But this response to a liberal tracker from Rand Paul‘s New Hampshire political director has completely changed the game.

According to Democratic super PAC American Bridge 21st Century, the unnamed Paul staffer licked their camera lens during a Paul event. “Lick Free or Die,” they joked, should be the campaign’s state slogan.

Bonus points for staffer guy’s smirk into the camera right after he finishes giving it a taste.

Senator Rand Paul visited New Hampshire today to accept the endorsement of twenty New Hampshire State Representatives who support his run for the White House, and to visit with and take questions from the voters of NH. It was a great day of events.
