Maher: Overpopulation Problem Is ‘It’s the Wrong People Procreating, Religious People’

On the online-only part of his show last night, Bill Maher said that when it comes to overpopulation, the problem is “it’s the wrong people procreating, religious people.”

Maher and his guests discussed the big news that China is finally ending its one-child policy and allowing families to have two children. Congresswoman Maxine Waters brought up the issue that too many Chinese families wanted to have boys and so there’s a huge gender imbalance.

Maher then brought up the religion issue has he lamented how population is a huge climate problem. He said, “There’s an arms race between religions. ‘We gotta get more Catholics out there!’ ‘We gotta get more Muslims out there!’ It’s crazy.”
