Former Congressman Jason Chaffetz stopped by Fox & Friends on Tuesday to talk about, among other subjects, White House leakers. And the former House Oversight Committee chairman said he’s had just about enough.
“They need to start putting people in handcuffs,” Chaffetz said.
… well alright then.
Chaffetz recalled his time with the committee as he railed against the leakers. He accused the Department of Justice of not prosecuting people that they should.
“When I was chairing the Oversight Committee, we actually read these reports making criminal referrals to the Department of Justice,” Chaffetz said. “And they don’t prosecute these people. We could sit here all day long, look at people in the past, federal employees, who’ve already violated the law that have documented by the inspector general. Go put them in handcuffs…and then we’ll get some credibility.”
And then, Chaffetz dropped the words which have been heard 91 times on Fox News air in the past week — according to the media monitoring service TVEyes: Deep state.
“The deep state does not like the fact that Donald Trump is trying to change the trajectory of the federal government in a place more compatible with what the American people want,” Chaffetz said. “That’s what they don’t understand…The liberals, their minds are exploding.”
