Mayor of Paris Smacks Trump Over Story About Anonymous Friend Who Won’t Go There Anymore
Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo is firing back at President Trump for reviving his campaign line today about how immigrants have ruined the capitol of France.
During Trump’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) speech on Friday, he berated the media for using unnamed sources in reports before doubling down on his erroneous statements about Sweden being overrun by immigrants committing violent crimes. Trump eventually turned his attention to France, and he told the story about a pal of his named “Jim” who won’t go to France anymore because “Paris is no longer Paris.”
As for the Mayor of Paris, she responded with a very Disney-themed tweet that roughly translates as: “To Donald and his friend Jim, from the Eiffel Tower we celebrate the attractiveness of Paris with Mickey and Minnie.”
