Shortly after the political world was rocked by the bombshell announcement of FBI Director James Comey’s firing, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr released a statement.
With the committee involved in an investigation into Russian election interference and potential collusion with associates of Donald Trump, the Republican lawmaker expressed concern about the timing of the termination.

As some noted, Burr’s statement was a bit tougher than may have been expected from a GOP senator, even one that is involved in an active investigation of Trump/Russia.
