Trump Tweets He Was ‘Viciously Attacked’ By Grieving Father of Capt. Khan

1thumbAfter going into damage control mode over his emerging feud with the parents of the late Captain Humayun Khan, a Muslim soldier who was killed in Iraq, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump now appears to be trying to damage the damage control by resurrecting the feud on Twitter. In a pair of tweets Sunday morning, Trump continued his attempts to justify his reaction, and began with the unfortunate construction that Captain Khan “was a hero, but…”:

It’s unclear what Trump meant by pointing out the 12 years that have passed since Khan’s death in action in Iraq, but whatever the inference (what has he done for us lately?), it isn’t a good one.

In a second tweet, Trump complained that the grieving father “viciously attacked” him, and took a shot at Hillary Clinton:

In his only documented public statement on the Iraq War prior to the invasion, Trump said he supported the invasion.
